It's the first week of practice for the East Ramapo Titans. "Growing. Getting to know each other. Playing as one." That’s been the focus of practice so far according to Coach Kevin Bullock as the football team’s historic first season begins. "Our goal is to never be outworked. We're going to come out, work hard, work together as one," says Bullock. After decades of being crosstown rivals, Spring Valley and Ramapo high schools students are playing on the same team this year because of low turnout previously. The team is already outfitted with new logos and shirts that say "Better Together." "It's the motto we're going to live by the whole season,” said Coach Andrew Delva. “We definitely want to be better together and I think we are better together." High school seniors News 12 spoke with Tuesday morning say they are confident they'll be successful this season. "But since we're together, I feel like we're stronger - more powerful," said Johnathan Mede, a senior at Spring Valley High School. "If we play as a unit, I believe we'll have a great season. With all my brother's we're going to go far,” said Elie Pierre, also a senior at Spring Valley High School. Their first home game will be at Ramapo High School on Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. against Rye. Other home games will be split between both high schools. News 12 is told the football team's coaching staff is made up of East Ramapo alumni. "
