Wednesday was initially expected to be a trifecta weather day: heat, humidity and storms. However, our forecast has shifted to mainly heat and humidity, with a weakened threat for storms across the tri-state. Some areas may see storms, but it has shifted far south to impact only isolated areas. Now, the umbrellas and storm preparations are not necessary Wednesday. Instead, there could be dangerous high heat for parts of New Jersey, where feel-like temperatures along with air temperatures will likely rise to the triple digits throughout the afternoon and early evening. Most of the other areas of the tri-state will experience a hot and humid day, but widespread triple digits will not be likely. Long Island and Western Connecticut may not even see more than lower-90-degree temperatures for most of the day. Just be aware, it will still be humid. The cold front is still on track to move through the region Wednesday night, bringing cloudy conditions, but get ready for early fall-like weather on Thursday and Friday. Middle- to upper-70s are expected, with low humidity throughout the tri-state. There are some signs for some showers on Friday, but it will be mainly dry heading into the holiday weekend. Labor Day weekend, however, may have some potential hiccups. There are chances for showers and storms Saturday evening, with the potential for spotty showers on Sunday. As the forecast stands now, the outlook for the weekend looks OK early in the day, but be prepared to pivot once we get closer to the end of the day. On Monday, the weather looks to improve once again, leading to the first week of September to be a wonderful start, with temperatures in the upper-70s and near-80 degrees. "
