Cleveland police are searching for the person who shot a 15-year-old boy on Sunday night.

A CDP spokesperson said there are no suspects or known motive at this time.

The shooting was reported just before midnight in the St. Clair - Superior neighborhood on Cleveland's East Side.

The teen was found on Myron Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head and rushed to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital for treatment, according to Cleveland EMS.

He was listed in serious condition as of Monday morning.

Cleveland police said the teen was shot while inside a Kia, which had just been reported stolen.

The tan Kia was found on East 79th Street at Superior Avenue with its passenger side window shot out.

While our Overnight News Tracker was on the scene, several individuals drove past on dirt bikes.

Just after midnight, in virtually the same area—more than a dozen gunshots rang out.

Cleveland Police rushed to the area of East 55th Street for a different incident.

Cleveland police said there is no known connection to the shooting at this time.

Myron Avenue resident Debbie Evans was saddened to hear about the shooting.

She said she often hears gunfire at night, but shots are rarely fired just feet from her front door.

"It's a sad thing for me because I get tired of hitting the floor," she said. "I hear the shots. I hit the floor."

Ward 7 Councilman Stephanie Howse-Jones said Cleveland teens need more mental health services and more should be done to prevent violence.

"If you have to call the police, the damage has already been done," she said.

She said she is working to start a Truth and Reconciliation program to help residents heal from violence in their neighborhood and for former offenders to reintegrate into their communities and "repair" damage they caused.

"If we do not create spaces for people who have caused harm to be in partnership to fix what is broken, we are going to consistently be in this cycle," she said.
