ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Local organizations and elected officials joined forces Friday for the Veterans’ Voices United Expo and listening session.

Organizers tell News 8 the event was designed to share information and resources with local veterans, ensuring they know what opportunities are available to them. In addition to the exhibition, veterans were encouraged to speak up at a town hall discussion, sharing their thoughts or concerns with local officials so they may better provide support.

“With so many different groups here, it’s just really a blessing to them, getting them here, allowing them to talk to whoever they need to, and that’s what this event’s all about, so maybe when they leave here, maybe we helped them get them to where they need to go,” Assemblymember Brian Manktelow said.

Organizations attending the expo include Veterans Upward Bound, VA Women Veterans Program, and Monroe County Veterans Services.
