ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Newark woman was arrested and charged this week after threatening to shoot multiple people with a gun in her hand, police said.

According to the Newark Police Department, Nicole Bethea, 43, was found on the corner of Church Street and Hoffman Street in Newark Monday as officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a home in the area.

It’s alleged Bethea used a .380 caliber pistol to threaten several people while children watched. Police said she then hid the gun. An order of protection was also in place, though police did not specify why. The gun was later discovered and taken by investigators.

Bethea was taken to jail where her recommended bail amount was set at $3500 cash or $7000 bond. She’s been charged with menacing in the second degree, and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
