Leroy man charged with DWI after crash involving off-duty officer

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Leroy man was charged with DWI after a car crash involving an off-duty police officer.

The Rochester Police Department said the crash happened Thursday night on the Rt. 490 exit ramp toward Culver Road. The off-duty officer was stopped in traffic on the ramp when they were rear-ended by another driver.

According to RPD, the officer and the 43-year-old driver got out and exchanged information, but the driver became uncooperative after 911 was called. The driver was charged with DWI.

Neither the officer nor the suspect was injured in the crash.
