Local educator wins Inspiring Teacher Award at the Jimmy Awards

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A special guest joined us Wednesday morning on News 8 Sunrise!

Jackie Mclean, the musical director for LeRoy Jr./Sr. High School, is the first educator in our area to win the Inspiring Teacher Award — one of two teachers across the country to get this every year through the prestigious Jimmy Awards.

The winners are picked for offering valuable guidance and encouragement to their students who excel in the art.

She was nominated by Evan Williams, a former student and a nominee for the Jimmy Awards last year.
