Rochester celebrates Labor Day with annual conference and parade

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Today is Labor Day — and the City of Rochester held the annual Labor Day Parade and press conference.

Local union representatives, community organizations, politicians, and candidates showed support for workers in Rochester. The press conference itself was held at the NYSUT building on North Union Street.

Right after the conference, the parade kicked off at 11 a.m. on East Avenue and Union Street. The route of the parade went towards Main Street and the Liberty Pole.

Last year, the Rochester Union of Nurses and Allied Professionals led the parade. The president and vice president of that union were the grand marshalls of the parade.
