ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A new developer in Endicott hosted a tour of its new construction projects, that are transforming several historic buildings in the downtown business district.

First New American Group purchased the old Cinema Saver last year and are in the process of converting it into additional housing and a retail space.

One of the owners, Parvil Chisty hosted a tour of the renovations for Mayor Nick Burlingame and others.

Chisty also showed off her plans for 14 and 16 Washington Ave, which is the tallest building on the strip. The third floor is being transformed into apartments, some with one bedroom and a studio space and others with two bedrooms.

The realtor for the new developments, Karen Klecar, says now is the perfect time to invest in Endicott.

“Now, this is the perfect place because the avenue is going through a lot of change and you’re going to see some beautiful things on the avenue. We’re also in the change of this building that has a lot of flexibility to become whatever the people want it to be. Opportunity to enjoy leisure, food, learning,” said Klecar.

Some of the theatres in the cinema saver are being turned into apartments, and others are being renovated into community space and party rooms.

One theatre is already being used for a weekly improv workshop by the group, Puzzled Players.

Chisty also owns 55 through 57 Washington Ave, as well as 1202 and 1204 Monroe Street. She hopes to be finished with construction at some point next year.
