ALLIANCE, OH - Alliance, Ohio, home to an Amtrak station served by the Capitol Limited route, recorded the lowest ridership among Amtrak stations in the state during the fiscal year 2023.

According to 2023 data from Amtrak, only 2,697 passengers used the Alliance station, making it the least used of the seven Amtrak stations in Ohio.

According to Amtrak, Amtrak operates up to five trains per day across Ohio, including routes like the Capitol Limited, which runs daily between Chicago and Washington, D.C., and the Lake Shore Limited, connecting Chicago with Boston and New York.

Despite the extensive network, Alliance's ridership remains significantly lower compared to other cities in the state.

For instance, Cleveland’s Amtrak station saw the highest usage, with 48,784 passengers, while Toledo topped the list with 53,189 riders. Even smaller stations like Bryan, which recorded 4,353 passengers, saw higher traffic than Alliance, according to Amtrak.

In total, Amtrak served 134,450 passengers across Ohio in FY 2023. The low usage of the Alliance station highlights the varying demand for rail travel across the state.

Amtrak continues to work with host railroads to improve on-time performance and service quality, though challenges remain.

More detailed information about Amtrak stations, including historical profiles and community links, can be found on the Great American Stations website.
