The San Francisco 49ers advanced to the Super Bowl after a gritty come-from-behind 34-31 win over the Detroit Lions...but it wasn't easy.

In a first half that saw the 49ers convincingly outplayed, a big second half was needed and tight end George Kittle predicted that his team would turn things around.

Facing a 24-7 deficit in the first half, Kittle was seen talking to Brock Purdy telling him that he can't wait for the end of the game to say "They had us in the first half, not going to lie."

The 49ers offense looked a shell of itself in the first half, but Kittle gave Purdy a little pep talk on the sidelines, and as they say, the rest is history. Kittle had all the faith in the world that his team would be able to turn things around...and they did.

Call it belief, arrogance, or anything you want, but while some fans were likely getting nervous in their seats at Levi's Stadium, Kittle was assured that his team would mount a comeback...and they did just that.

The 49ers outscored the Lions 27-7 in the second half to advance to the Super Bowl where a meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs awaits.

San Francisco has been here before against Mahomes (2019) and will be hoping that the result is different this time around.

The 49ers seemingly had the game within their grasp as they entered the fourth quarter up 20-10, but they allowed Mahomes and Co. to score 21 unanswered points in a devastating seven-minute blitz to win 31-20.

But if the 49ers get behind as they did against Detroit, Kittle will be the voice of reason and will have no doubts that his team can again, produce a comeback for the ages.
