Brett Veach sheds light on what Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift relationship has been like for Chiefs

In case you haven’t heard, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are an item.

It appears that hasn’t been much of a talking point around the Kansas City Chiefs. Not recently, at least.

The tight end and pop icon have quickly become one of the most well-known power couples since going public with their relationship in the fall. Swift has become a staple at Chiefs games this season, with their relationship becoming a major talking point in the pop culture sphere.

But for all the noise around the two of them, very little seems to have trickled into the confines of Arrowhead Stadium.

That’s according to Chiefs GM Brett Veach, who shed light on the impact the relationship has had on the team during an exclusive appearance Wednesday on Fescoe in the Morning.

“I think it’s cool. I’ll say this: When it first broke, I think it was the Chicago game, it was like a buzz in the building," Veach said. "As it’s happening in real time, you’re thinking all these things of how this (could be) a distraction and all this. But I would say after the second week when it was official, there hasn’t been anything.

“If you didn’t go online, you would have no idea that he’s in a relationship with Taylor Swift. Doesn’t talk about it, players don’t talk about it. You’d think you’d hear the songs at practice and all the guys getting on him, this and that, but there’s such a high amount of respect for each other in this locker room.

“Honestly, after the first week or two, it never gets brought up, it never gets mentioned. The only time that we realize it is when we're looking at our phones during the TV timeout and CBS is zooming in on Taylor, you’re reminded that they’re together. But Travis is a straight pro and the guys treat him like that.”

Football fans can get used to seeing Swift for the foreseeable future, as Veach also shot down speculation that the 34-year-old Kelce is considering retirement following this season.
