A second person has been charged in the shooting death of a Maury teenager late last month, the Greene County Sheriff's Office reported.

Deputies on Feb. 8 charged Shayquan Williams, 18, of Hookerton, with an open count of murder in the Jan. 28 death of William "Anthony" Devon Williams Jr., 17.

William Williams was found shot about 12:42 p.m. at a residence on Rory Drive. EMS pronounced him dead on the scene.

A news release from the sheriff's office said that Shayquan Williams was taken into custody at their Snow Hill headquarters without incident.

Robbery was believed to have been a motivation in the shooting. A spokesperson for the agency said there is no known relation between the victim and suspect.

The sheriff's office on Jan. 30 arrested Ja'wan Ja'von Dodd, 20, of Snow Hill in connection to the shooting. His arrest was a result of community tips. Dodd also was charged with murder.

Both suspects are jailed at the Greene County Detention Center without bond.
