Scotty McCreery is being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry: 'Beyond what I could have ever dreamed'

Scotty McCreery is just months away from becoming a lifelong member of Country music’s prestigious Grand Ole Opry.

McCreery will become a formal member of the Opry family on April 20. After being invited to join the famed institution by Garth Brooks in December, an official induction day, April 20, has been set for McCreery. The American Idol alum’s longtime hero, Josh Turner , will be in attendance to welcome him into the family.

“It has been my longtime goal to be worthy of Opry membership,” McCreery shared. “I am overjoyed to join this prestigious family that is the heart of country music. To be invited by my hero Garth Brooks and to be inducted by another hero Josh Turner is beyond what I could have ever dreamed.”

Many will recall McCreery famously auditioned for Idol singing Turner’s hit, “Your Man,” which got him a golden ticket to Hollywood and ultimately changed his life and made his dreams come true.

Thirteen years later, McCreery is getting to see another dream come true as he becomes a member of the Grand Ole Opry on April 20 during the 7pm show.
