Tunis Fresh N Fast , a local fast casual seafood restaurant with two sites in Northeast Florida, is working on a third location in Jacksonville at 1830 Myrtle Ave N.

The company’s third location is expected to open in the Mid-Westside neighborhood of Jacksonville, moving into a site that has been the home of several concepts, including Hook Fish & Chicken, Church’s Chicken, and Tasty Fish, according to a plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Tunis Fresh N Fast will continue the trend of having either a seafood or chicken restaurant in this space.

The restaurant already has two locations in Jacksonville at 5201 Baymeadows Road and 656 Edgewood Ave North, offering a variety of burgers and sandwiches, fish options, gyros, and chicken salad. Some of Tunis’ specials include wings, crab cakes, and more. Most entrees come with a side of crinkle-cut fries. Tunis Fresh N Fast also has a variety of other sides, plus a kid’s menu and catering options. Owner Ridha Ben Haj Belgacem tells What Now Jacksonville that he hopes to open by the end of this month but is waiting on inspections and other requirements.

This will be an excellent location for the company’s third site, sitting only a block from James P. Small Park and not too far from the University of Florida Health Jacksonville. While the eatery will have less foot traffic than if it were near a shopping center, there is minimal competition for the restaurant. Other than a handful of chains throughout the area, Tunis Fresh N Fast will only have to compete with Tummy Time Fish & Chicken when it opens.
