In addition to being one of the most in-demand producers on the scene, Jack Antonoff has proved that he’s a loyal friend and Swiftie through-and-through.

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times , songwriter, producer and musician Jack Antonoff talked all things career, including the upcoming Taylor Swift album. Jack, a longtime friend and collaborator of Swift, has known about The Tortured Poets Department long before it’s GRAMMY announcement earlier this month . The album marks their seventh full album collaboration together, but don’t get it twisted- Antonoff made clear that Taylor writes all her own songs.

Challenging the validity of her penship, Antonoff told the Times reporter, “is like challenging someone’s faith in God. You just don’t go there.” The producer is understandably defensive over his friend, even saying, “I’m a little b**** sometimes. But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.”

Someone who is clearly out of the running is Kanye West , and Antonoff expressed no regrets in losing that work-relationship opportunity. “It’s been a long time since I would’ve taken Kanye’s call,” he told the outlet, referencing the rapper’s continuous scandals. “I’m so incredibly bored when someone doesn’t have the sauce anymore, so they go elsewhere to shock. It’s just a remarkable waste of space.”

Even so, Antonoff believes he is a never-say-never opportunist, telling the LA Times that he doesn’t have “a road map in my head for what I will or won’t do.” Rather, the Bleachers frontman allows his excitement to lead him through his career, asking: “Am I excited or not?” with every opportunity he’s offered.

This investment-focused method has clearly worked. From his past membership in the band fun, to working with the likes of Lorde , St. Vincent , The 1975 , Florence and the Machine , Lana Del Rey and, of course, Swift - Antonoff has been everywhere. His songwriting and production have earned him endless accolades, from critical acclaim to 24 nominations and 10 wins at the GRAMMY awards . “Great things are made by a small group of people yes-anding each other all the way to the moon,” Antonoff said nonchalantly.

Some of those “great things” are currently in motion, including his work on the latest Lana Del Rey album Lasso . While the release date has yet to be announced, the album is already making waves as the singer’s first introduction into the Country world. “We’ve been cooking,” Antonoff said of his album collaboration with Del Rey. “It’s f***ing brilliant.” Del Rey, alongside Beyoncè and Post Malone , are setting off a new craze entirely. Each artist is trying their hand at the genre - Beyoncè with her Act II album and hit “Texas Hold ‘Em” and Post Malone’s pending album and single “Ain’t Got a Guy For That” featuring Luke Combs . Del Rey released her cover of John Denver 's classic, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” nearly two months ago. “The bubbling is about to blow,” Antonoff said of the Country genre trend. “I feel it everywhere.”
