Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady is widely regarded as the greatest player to ever play the game, but one thing that's much more debated is his status as an all-time great athlete.

Now, 24 years after getting drafted No. 199 overall, Brady attempted to put his athleticism on display in retirement by racing Father Time and his previous 40-yard dash time from the 2000 NFL Combine.

Perhaps just as well known as Brady's seven Super Bowl rings is how unflattering he looked in all aspects during his Combine more than two decades ago. Brady ran a 5.28-second 40-yard dash and took an infamous photo in his boxers, which has been memed too many times to count.

Father Time and Brady have long been rivals, with the quarterback seeming to defy the laws of aging and arguably enjoy even more success in his second decade as a starter than in his first.

The TB12 Method, as it came to be known, somehow managed to keep the quarterback in MVP contention even during his stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to end his NFL career.

Now, though, the aspiring NFL commentator has officially bested the speed of his 22-year-old self, who was leaving Michigan and would become the signal caller for the New England Patriots.

At age 46, Brady ran the 40-yard dash in 5.18 seconds, improving his time from the 2000 NFL Scouting Combine by one-tenth of a second and adding strength to the argument that his athleticism isn't bound by the laws of time.

By shaving time off his 40-yard dash, Brady proved that the TB12 Method kept both his arm and legs as fresh as ever and added another chapter to his Hall of Fame career.

To see how other quarterbacks stack up against the GOAT's 40-yard dash time, tune in to the NFL Combine this Saturday to see the signal callers sprint.
