Waiting for the right time to release the track, after fans first heard an unedited version when it leaked back in 2017, Miley and Pharrell decided the time to drop the new and improved version, was now. Pharrell first teased the single in January at the Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall-Winter 2024 Collection presentation in Paris.

The pair first confirmed the impending arrival of the song at the start of the week, and then announced its official release date midway through. Cyrus also shared a snippet of the track, along with a clip of the music video.

Featuring Pharrell’s producing vibes and stylistic fingerprints all over it, the groovy dance track from the Bangerz vault finds Cyrus singing, “I could be a doctor and I could be a nurse,” she sings. “I think I see the problem, it’s only gonna get worse… Just show me where it hurts / I need to rock you baby, before your body burns / Can we work it out?”

In the Jacob Bixenman directed visual, Miley, or sometimes two or three Mileys, dance along to the song in a sparkly fringe dress and majorly teased hairstyle, reminiscent to her mic-dropping GRAMMYs performance look.

As for the Pharrell produced songs that made the cut onto her 2013 Bangerz , he helmed Cyrus’ Country-leaning track “4×4” with Nelly and “#GetItRight” on the album’s standard edition, as well as the deluxe tracks “Rooting for My Baby” and “On My Own.” However, the last time Pharrell and Cyrus teamed up was on “Come Get It Bae” from the producer’s 2014 solo album GIRL .
