Ice Spice is finally done recording her debut album, 'Y2K'

After sharing the title of her debut album earlier this year, Ice Spice has let it be known she’s officially finished recording Y2K .

Taking to social to share the news, Ice wrote, “I finished recording y2k the album,” alongside what might be the album’s cover art or just project related visuals, but who really knows. On that same note, the album’s release date and tracklist have yet to be revealed.

Inspired by her birthday being January 1, 2000, and a title she’s been hinting at since November 2023, Ice initially revealed that she dubbed her album Y2K during a visit to The Today Show this past January. Noting at that time it was, “almost finished,” and that she had “a crazy collaboration that just got locked in, like two days ago,” but did not divulge much else.

Thus far, the only single she’s released is “Think U The S*** (Fart),” which had her running back a similar beat, and like her other tracks didn’t take long to take over TikTok. During her Today Show chat, Ice acknowledged that the single was a “familiar sound and aura” for her, adding that her forthcoming album will include that similar sound mixed in with genres she hasn’t experimented with before.
