Advocates Launch Citizen's Search for Unrecovered Evidence in the Oklahoma v. Channen Smith Case in the approximate area of 36th St and Peoria in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Information was provided by Shelly Davis, an advocate who helped investigate the case of Channen Smith.

Tulsa, OK - Advocates for justice in the case of Oklahoma v. Channen Smith announce their intention to conduct a citizen's search for unrecovered evidence. In 2013, Channen Smith was convicted of first-degree murder and shooting with intent to kill in connection to an incident that took place on October 23, 2010, at 1843 North Harvard Ave in Tulsa. In my interview with Shelly Davis, it is said that recent developments have brought to light compelling information regarding the case. Davis claims that in January 2017, Arrlan Young confessed to family members about his involvement in the shooting just days before succumbing to cancer. Davis stated that Young provided detailed information about the shooting that aligned with the testimony of the medical examiner presented during the trial. Davis said this information was subsequently shared with District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler, who acknowledged its corroboration with the medical examiner's report.

Davis also stated that two additional witnesses, Henderson Porter and Freddie Smith, were part of the same gang as Young in 2010. They attest to having knowledge of Young's involvement in the events of the shooting night and have stepped forward posthumously to Young's death to exonerate Channen Smith, as per Young's alleged request before his passing.

Davis said Young disclosed the location where he disposed of the weapon used in the incident, which has not been recovered by law enforcement. Advocates will arrive at 9:30 AM in North Tulsa to search for the unrecovered weapon.

Upon reviewing the court testimony from Smith's former girlfriend, Sabrina Schrader, her family placed him approximately 30 miles away in Claremore for the entire weekend.

Channen Smith is serving a life plus 40 years sentence and claims he is innocent.
