The long-braid wearing legend will turn 91 years old on April 29, almost exactly a month before the album release.  Nelson just keeps rolling along with his "outlaw" mode, doing whatever he wanted and how he wanted to do it.  Through his entire career and genre jumping style, Nelson has always stayed true to himself.

In an article dated in 2020 by Texas Monthly , they counted more than 140 albums not including compilations of previously released materials, or greatest hits records. It was difficult to find the actual number of albums released by Nelson over his career, but regardless the number is astounding.

Throughout his career, Nelson has 18 Billboard number one hits over his 113 released singles, and has reached the top 10 an incredible 53 times.

With more than 40 stops on his published 2024 touring schedule throughout the United States, Nelson is definitely "On the Road Again" with stars like Asleep at the Wheel, Bob Dylan, Alison Krauss and Chris Stapleton.

Legacy Records will release The Border that will feature 10 newly recorded studio performances including four new composition pieces between Nelson and Buddy Cannon.

The title track "The Border" was co-written by Rodney Crowell and Allen Shamblin for Crowell's 2019 album Texas. The hall of fame star put his signature voice to the song which delves into the daily life of a border patrol agent with lyrics like, "I come home to Maria in a bulletproof vest.
