    Atlanta’s Runnin’ Rabb Relays canceled due to widespread rainfall

    Atlanta’s annual Atlanta Lions Club/Gordon Pynes/ Runnin’ Rabbs Relays went off without a hitch on Saturday, Mar. 16, but didn’t end well as rain canceled all running events except the 3200m run.

    The meet was setting up to be one memorable event with several schools competing including three of our coverage schools.

    Varsity Boys

    Aidan Boston posted the only recorded points for the Rabbits as he finished first in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 4 inches.

    For Queen City, DJ Henson placed fourth in the triple jump event with a leap of 41 feet, 4 inches and David Jackson placed sixth in shot with a toss of 40 feet, 9 inches.

    Varsity Girls

    In high jump, Caitlynn Bailey placed third at 5 feet even and Aysia Heard placed sixth at 4 feet, 8 inches, and in the 3200m run Lucy Ransom placed first overall at 12:35.79 and Aurelia Giesler placed third at 13:05.58.

    For Queen City, Grace Alexander placed third in discus at 109 feet, 1 inch, and for Linden-Kildare Jamiah Birmingham placed third at 36 feet, 3 inches.

    JV Boys

    In shot, Taiwon Henderson placed fourth at 35 feet, 11 1/2 inches, in long jump Jaden Riley placed third at 19 feet, 7 inches and in the 3200m run Grant Allen and Campbell Autrey placed 1-2 with times of 11:06.47 and 11:07.09 respectively.

    For QC, Tavon Andrews placed third at 39 feet, 5 inches in triple jump.

    JV Girls

    In long jump Gracie McWilliams placed third at 14 feet, 11 1/2 inches and in triple jump McWilliams placed third at 31 feet, 1/2 inch.

    For Queen City, Kaylin Griffin and Reagan Hargrave placed 1-2 in pole vault with marks of 7 feet, 6 inches and 7 feet even respectively and in shot Romy Beluet placed fourth at 23 feet, 1 inch.
