A Lonsdale man allegedly assaulted a woman he knows in Faribault, damaged her residence, ran from police. Upon his release from jail he allegedly violated a restraining order and resisted arrest.

Joshua Nathaniel Helzer Stolte, 23, was first arrested Tuesday afternoon. A woman told Faribault police officers Stolte repeatedly hit her in the head with a pillow, pinched her arms and legs, pulled her hair and blocked her from leaving the room. The woman had bruises on her arms and legs that she said were from being pinched, according to a court complaint. Stolte also allegedly damaged several pieces of furniture during the incident.

When officers went to the woman's residence, Stolte allegedly fled out a window and ran. He was located soon after and taken to jail.

Stolte was charged Wednesday in Rice County District Court with felony domestic assault, felony property damage and misdemeanor fleeing police.

He was released without having to pay any bail after an order was issued that he cannot have any contact with the alleged victim.

The next day the woman reported Stolte was calling her and a man who knows the woman reported Stolte texted him and said he was going to assault the woman again.

Stolte was located walking in the area and allegedly struggled with officers as they arrested him again. A copy of the restraining order was in his pocket.

Stolte was charged Friday with felony violating a no contact order and gross misdemeanor obstructing the legal process.

This time bail was set at $80,000.
