This year, the Monroe County Prevention & Wellness Coalition and Monroe County Health Council celebrated Tennessee’s fifth annual Day of Hope by holding a food drive with the hopes of filling all the blessing boxes in Monroe County. Volunteer Federal Savings Bank joined the initiative by serving as host drop-off locations at all six of their branch locations. Thanks to the outpouring of support from the community, all of the blessing boxes in Monroe County were able to be stocked with items donated through the food drive. Pictured, from left to right, with just a small representation of the items donated, are: Monroe County Health Council Executive Director Heather Rhymes, Ruby McLemore and Jessica Kent with Volunteer Federal Savings Bank, Monroe County Health Council Project Assistant Tammie George and Project Director Gabbie McConkey.
