PICKAWAY TWP — Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle fatal wreck that occurred Saturday on Kingston Pike in Pickaway Township.

Around 8:57 a.m. Saturday, the Pickaway County Communications Center received a 911 call about single vehicle roll over crash in the area of State Route 361 and Kingston Pike, according to a press release from the PCSO.

When deputies arrived on scene, they located a 2005 white Chevrolet on its side and located the driver who was identified as Michael G. Dille, 69, of Circleville, who had been ejected from the vehicle.

During their investigation, deputies learned that Dille was traveling southbound on Kingston Pike when he failed to negotiate the right-hand curve upon approach to State Route 361, according to PCSO.

Dille went off the southside of Kingston Pike which caused his vehicle to overturn then came to rest on all four wheels, in the grassy area in between Kingston Pike and State Route 361.

Dille was flown to Adena Regional Medical Center by Med-Flight. While at the hospital, Dille succumbed to his injuries from the crash and died.

Sheriff Matthew Hafey thanked Green Township EMS, Pickaway Township Fire and EMS, Saltcreek-Tarlton Fire Department and Med-Flight for their assistance at the scene.
