Jonathan Milan won stage four of the Giro d'Italia after an explosive sprint finish in Andora. The Italian held off Kaden Groves (Alpecin Deceninck) and Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious) to take the win in Liguria.

There was barely any change to the general classification with Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) maintaining the race lead —and the pink jersey— that he had picked up on stage two . Pogačar also retains the king of the mountains jersey, while Cian Uijtdebroeks (Visma-Lease a Bike) keeps the white young rider’s jersey.

Milan inherited the maglia ciclamino from Tim Merlier after jumping past the Belgian with his points tally.
