The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a search for a possible drowning victim at Patagonia Lake. The possible victim is an adult male. The individual was reported missing and possibly a victim of drowning to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 7 PM on July 24, 2024 at which time a search began. Multiple other agencies are assisting the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office with the search using specialized underwater search equipment. The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team is also utilizing specially trained dogs in the search. The marina and swimming area of the lake are closed at this time while the search is underway.
