T-shirts aside, there WAS action on the field this weekend at rookie minicamps…and Brian Mitchell LOVES something he saw out of Jayden Daniels.

“He has a quick release, he can throw the football, and he's kind of a perfectionist,” Brian said. “He was doing a drill and he missed one time and it was eating him alive...I like a person that's not gonna just be happy with making mistakes!”

Dan Quinn said ‘what I saw in the field was pretty much exactly what we saw from his time, but what you don't see on the tape is like how much this guy loves football,’ and yeah, what BMitch saw kind of backs that up.

On the flip side, Drake Squad, Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo said that Maye ‘has a lot to work on, but I have no doubt that he will put the time in. You didn't see him out here yesterday, but he was here all night trying to get on the same page.’

So maybe you really shouldn't take too much from rookie minicamp, but the story that Daniels was the more pro-ready prospect seems to be true so far.

“Ideally we don't have to do this forever, but there will be some comparisons right away,” JP Finlay said, “and it's pretty damn obvious what's gonna happen here: it sure feels like Daniels will start Week 1.”

“If I draft a guy No. 2, I'm gonna work with him. I didn't draft a guy No. 2 to say I'm gonna need you to sit, you draft the guy because you think they're capable and they're ready to go,” B replied. “Yeah, they gotta learn some stuff, but f a veteran guy comes to the team, he has to learn stuff about things on the new team, too.”

JP now thinks even more that Jacoby Brissett has a legit shot to start Week 1 in New England, and was sure of that before he signed there, but ‘it's a new day in Ashburn and you've got a new quarterback, and I don't want to operate in a Jayden versus Drake mode for 15 years.’
