    January 3, 1932 – December 9, 2023 - Carol Storment Moore passed on December 9th, 2023. She was 91 years old.

Carol was born on January 3, 1932 to Myron and Mildred Storment in Orofino, Idaho. The Storments moved from Idaho to San Bernardino, California when Myron became a Post Office Inspector in 1942. At the end of WWII Myron was transferred to Salinas, California where Carol graduated from High School in 1949.

While attending Hartnell College in Salinas, Carol was a very good student and her kind nature made her popular with her peers. She had been Homecoming Queen when she met her husband to be Winston Moore who was immediately smitten! On September 14, 1952 she married Winston whom she very famously (among the family) worked to help finish dental school and was awarded the illustrious “PHT” degree (Putting Hubby Through) from the University of Southern California.

Winston and Carol moved to Santa Cruz, California in 1961 to start their family and his dental practice. The practice flourished, as did the family, having three sons. Carol was very civically minded, never hesitating to lend a helping hand to those in need. The Children’s Home Society was her service organization where she served dutifully over the years. During the years of raising her Boys (Winston included) the Moore home was always home to the Boy’s friends day and night with the cookie jar always full! During the holidays Carol often played host to the Boy’s “Holiday Orphan” friends, those unable to get home to their families.

Carol and Winston lived in Santa Cruz until 1997 when he retired and he and Carol moved to Mill City on the Santiam River in Oregon to be closer to their kids. Carol and Winston embraced their new home town and their charitable nature benefited their new community. Carol and Winston were married for over 55 years at time of Winston’s passing in 2008.

Carol then lived in Wilsonville, OR for the remainder of her years where she enjoyed gardening, visiting with family and friends, game nights and volunteering with various organizations.

Carol was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Carol is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Dolores (Fitz). She is survived by her brother, Robert Storment; her three children, David, Thomas and Gregory; and her seven grandchildren, Celia, McKenna, Dominique, Thomas, Winston, Carson and Addison.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 8, 2024 In Santa Cruz, CA. Carol’s ashes are to be spread where Winston’s were. Carol and Winston were together in life from the moment they met, now they are together forever in eternity…
