Drake, Nicki Minaj, Victoria Monét, Sexyy Red & MORE Rack Up Multiple 2024 BET Awards Nominations

The 2024 BET Awards are right around the corner, and the nominations list just hit the innanet on Thursday (May 16). Despite all the chat about Drake’s rap beef surrender to Kendrick Lamar , the Canadian rapper is this year’s leading nominee.

Artists On The 2024 BET Awards Nominations List

As mentioned, Drizzy is taking the lead with seven nominations. His eighth studio album, ‘For All The Dogs’ is nominated for album of the year. One of the awards he’s up for is the music video for ‘First Person Shooter’ featuring J. Cole. That record ignited Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s back-and-forth from the booth in the last month or so.

Drizzy’s Young Money bestie, Nicki Minaj , is second in the lead with six nominations. She is also nominated for album of the year for her ‘Pink Friday 2’ project! Two of her nominations were for her song with Ice Spice , ‘Barbie World,’ which was part of the blockbuster ‘Barbie’ soundtrack.

Additionally, Victoria Monét landed in third place with five nominations. The R&B singer recently celebrated receiving GRAMMY trophies from her three 2024 wins in the mail. The moment comes nearly 11 years after tweeting about her dreams of winning one.

In addition to possibly taking home one or more BET Awards, Victoria is booked to perform at the show.

More About This Year’s Awards

Joining Monét with five nominations apiece are J. Cole, Sexyy Red , and SZA . Drake’s ‘Rich Baby Daddy,’ which features SZA and Sexyy Red , is competing for the best collaboration and two other awards.

Moving on, Beyoncé received four nominations, including best female R&B/pop artist. She is also being recognized for two ‘Cowboy Carter’ tracks, ‘Texas Hold’ Em’ and ’16 Carriages.’

Meanwhile, ‘Renaissance,’ Beyoncé’s 2023 tour film, is one of several film nominees. Others include: ‘American Fiction,’ ‘Bob Marley: One Love’; ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’; ‘The Book of Clarence’; ‘The Color Purple’; ‘The Equalizer 3’ and ‘The Little Mermaid.’

Several athletes will also be competing for awards this year. Simone Biles, Naomi Asaka, Steph Curry, Lebron James, and Patrick Mahomes are among those on the list.

Like Monét, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Latto, Glorilla, and Shaboozey will also perform during the June 30 show.
