Len Berman & Michael Riedel In The Morning:

Certainly the biggest surprise of the week was President Biden and Donald Trump agreeing to two presidential debates during the campaign season: one next month and one in September. But WOR White House correspondent Jon Decker talked with Len and Michael about why he feels there’s only a 50/50 chance of these debates actually happening.

While President Trump’s lawyers sparred with Michael Cohen as the disgraced fixer took the witness stand this week, several Republican backers showed up in and outside the Manhattan court to show their support for the 45th President. Their presence only fueled speculation, however, that they were there to score political points when Trump picks his running mate later this year. US Representative Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY 11TH) was among those in attendance, but explained to Len and Michael that she was there strictly to show her support for a candidate who is being railroaded.

After starring in a string of hit comedic movies in the 80’s, such as Police Academy, Short Circuit and Three Men and a Baby, it seemed as though Steve Guttenberg suddenly dropped off the face of the earth. As it turned out, however, he actually found himself in a much more demanding and rewarding role: he became the caregiver for his father, a former New York City police officer who was suffering from kidney failure. He talked with Len and Michael this week about his new book about why he feels choosing between his father and his fame was an easy decision to make.

    Mark Simone:

CNBC contributor Jake Novak spoke with Mark this week about the surprise announcement that President Biden will debate Donald Trump. The guys discuss whether the Biden camp is betting on Trump being on house arrest by that point, therefore giving Biden the “out” on actually debating him.

Could the turnout for Trump’s rally in Wildwood, NJ last weekend indicate that the Garden State could be a “win” for Republicans this fall? WOR weekend host Rob Astorino joined Mark to discuss the implications.
