Debuting his first release from his 31st album, George Strait gave fans a date to look forward to. "MIA Down in MIA" from his upcoming album, "Cowboys and Dreamers," was released just one day before Strait's 72nd birthday.

The King of Country Music released a statement about his grief-stricken year.

“I’m dedicating this record to my longtime manager and friend Erv Woolsey and my longtime fiddle player and friend Gene Elders (a player on four of these tracks), who we lost on the same day, March 20, 2024, as well as my longtime friend and road manager Tom Foote, who we lost on April 29, 2024.”

He went on to say, "I will never forget all of the good times we had together. May they rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Strait is a country music legend whose every move is admired by fans everywhere. This album will be highly anticipated and guaranteed to hit the charts running when fans are actually able to get their hands on it.

The album also has special meaning in that Keith Gattis, who died in a tractor accident in 2023, was close to Strait. Strait attended Gattis' tribute show. In what looks like a nod of appreciation and tribute, Strait included three Keith Gattis songs on his new album.

If that wasn't enough sentimental value, Strait has more to add. Bubba, the legend's son, also co-wrote three of the songs on the album to be released Sept. 6, 2024.

Strait will be on tour with stops in multiple states before ending up in Las Vegas on Dec. 7 at Allegiant Stadium for his "Strait to Vegas" show. Starting on May 25, you can find the King of Country Music at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa, followed by dates in Charlotte, North Carolina; East Rutherford, New Jersey; College Station, Texas; Salt Lake City, Utah; Detroit; and Chicago.
