Retired educators award scholarship

The DeWitt County Retired School Personnel Association is proud to announce our 2023-2024 High School Senior with our annual $1,000.00 Scholarship. This year we have selected Fallon Whitt as our recipient.

Fallon is the daughter of Melissa and Farley Whitt of Cuero. She will be furthering her education at Texas A & M-Corpus Christi. She plans to major in psychology. I will quote her as she had written in her essay. “My goal is to teach, mentor and show children that even though you are going through the worst you will always have someone to lean on no matter what. Anyone can endure any situation if they have faith in God and find the hope in their heart to keep pushing on no matter what!”

Our organization is growing. We now have over 79 members. Our President is Mrs. Sandra Tate. We invite any Retired Teacher or School Personnel to join us.

This year we received applications for our Scholarship from our three Districts-Nordheim, Yorktown, and Cuero. Essay readers this year were Judy Faulkner, Carol Semper, Patti Harbers, and Judy Fetters.

DCRSPA wants to congratulate Fallon Whitt and all of our graduating seniors. We wish them all the very best.
