Kingsley Enagbare A Full Participant in Packers OTAs

The Green Bay Packers have had nearly a full attendance at organized team activities to start their offseason workouts. One of the surprise participants this week has been pass rusher, Kingsley Enagbare.

Back during Super Wild Card Weekend against the Dallas Cowboys, there were concerns that Kinglsey Enagbare suffered a serious knee injury. It was presumed at the time that he tore his ACL and would need to undergo surgery.

But, as the offseason went along, it was revealed that Enagbare never went under the knife. He was rehabbing and the most recent update provided by Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was that Enagbare was rehabbing through the injury that he suffered.

Rehab must have been going well, as Kinglsey Enagbare has had zero restraints during OTAs. He has been a full participant on the field this week according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

“Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur confirmed today that Enagbare is “full-go” for Organized Team Activities and did not have knee surgery. Video from the Packers’ practice today shows that Enagbare is doing everything the other players are doing, with no brace on his knee and no indication he was ever hurt.

“We dodged a bullet there,” LaFleur told reporters.”

The injury that Kingsley Enagbare suffered has never been revealed. But, it wasn’t as serious as once feared since he is out there working out in May with zero restrictions. Not even needing a brace seems like a fortunate outcome.

Enagbare has played in all 34 games of his NFL career to this point. He is a core special teams producer for the Packers in addition to his burgeoning role on defense as an edge rusher.

This is a wonderful turn of events for Enagbare and the Packers. With a new defense being installed this offseason, he and his teammates must get as much work in as possible.

He is one of several players who will technically be playing a different position in 2024. Enagbare will still be rushing the passer, but it will come as a defensive end, not a linebacker. Jeff Hafley, who is replacing Joe Barry as defensive coordinator, is changing to a 4-3 base defense from a 3-4 base.
