Accuweather says hurricanes may be much stronger than usual during this season. Given the warming of the Atlantic, this is no surprise.

The service said: “Along with the anticipation of an extremely busy Atlantic hurricane season, AccuWeather meteorologists are greatly concerned that conditions over much of the basin could have a significant number of storms that undergo rapid intensification. Where this occurs as storms approach land could greatly add to the risk to lives and property.”

The storms are expected to intensify most years. The waters just south of Florida can rise to 100 degrees F.

Additionally, there is a new storm pattern that involves more than hurricanes. This has happened in the Midwest with hail, thunderstorms, and tornadoes. A recent storm in Houston had 100 MPH winds. There were no warnings beforehand that the storm would be so violent.
