Fuel leak leads to fire that injures man at Oak Park Marina

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — One person was hospitalized after a boat fire at the Oak Park Marina in Wayne County.

Investigators said a 65-year-old Webster man was cleaning his boat around 9:15 a.m. when it “burst into flames.” According to the DEC, he was cleaning up a fuel leak when the fuel was ignited, causing the fire. The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with what police said were severe injuries.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said four boats were damaged in the fire.

The DEC responded to the incident to assess and prevent any environmental impact from the fuel leak and the fire.
