In a strategic move to bolster their bullpen, the Chicago White Sox announced they have claimed left-hander Sammy Peralta off waivers from the Seattle Mariners, sending him to Triple-A. This acquisition fills an open spot on Chicago's 40-man roster.

Peralta, 26, finds himself back in the White Sox organization again after a brief stint with the Mariners. Originally selected in the 18th round of the 2019 draft by the White Sox, Peralta climbed the minor league ranks to make his major league debut with the club in 2023.

Despite showing some potential, his initial big-league performance was marred by a high walk rate, overshadowing his strikeout capabilities. His tenure at Triple-A revealed similar challenges, with Peralta struggling to keep the ball in the park.

After being designated for assignment by the White Sox in early April to make room on the roster earlier this season, Peralta was quickly snapped up by the Mariners . However, his performance at Triple-A Tacoma left much to be desired, culminating in a 9.24 ERA over 12 appearances . This led the Mariners to designate Peralta for assignment, presenting the White Sox with an opportunity to reclaim their former prospect.
