    Houston Police: Officers investigate alleged assault, animal abuse

    ​​The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

    Between May 20 and May 26, the Houston Police Department answered 227 calls for service and initiated 47 traffic stops resulting in 16 citations and 35 warnings.

    • On May 21, officers responded to the Texas County Memorial Hospital for a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, it was found that a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox had struck an unoccupied 2020 GMC Yukon while pulling into a parking spot. No injuries were reported.
    • On May 22, an officer responded to an apartment complex for an abandoned vehicle. The abandoned vehicle was towed at the request of the apartment complex.
    • On May 22, officers responded to the 400 block of North Grand Avenue for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, it was found the altercation was only verbal and both parties agreed to stay separated.
    • On May 23, officers were dispatched to the 16000 block of Oak Hill Drive Road for a dog locked in a hot car. Officers made contact with the dog owner Monic King, 26, of Waynesville, who was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail, where she was cited for Animal Abuse/Neglect, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order and Resisting Arrest.
    • On May 24, Shane Fraizer, 46, of Batesville, Ark., was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid Driver’s License and Exceeding the Posted Speed Limit.
    • On May 25, James Middleton, 28, of Houston, was cited for Allowing an Animal to Run At Large.
    • On May 25, officers responded to the 1400 block of Sam Houston Blvd. for a report of an assault. This investigation is ongoing.
    • On May 26, Allison Griffin-Fischer, 19, of Lake St. Louis, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated-Drug Condition. Upon arrival at the jail, Griffin-Fischer was cited for Driving While Intoxicated-Drug Condition and Exceeding the Posted Speed Limit.
    • On May 26, officers responded to the 200 block of Hawthorne Street for a report of trespassing and an assault. This investigation is ongoing.
    • On May 26, officers received information of a missing juvenile in the 1400 block of Sam Houston Blvd. Officers arrived and located the missing juvenile, who was turned over to the proper authorities.
