A Houston woman faces a pair of felony charges after allegedly assaulting another woman with a broom.

Tina M. Dow, 55, of Houston, is charged with second-degree domestic assault and resisting an arrest for a felony.

Texas County Sheriff Scott Lindsey said that at about 12:05 a.m. last Saturday (May 25), deputies responded to Texas County Memorial Hospital to speak with a woman who was the victim of an assault at a Forrest Drive residence in the Houston area.

The victim told officers she had had been assaulted by a woman later identified as Dow. The victim stated Dow struck her several times with a broom, causing it to break.

Deputies went to the residence on Forrest Drive and located a witness who provided a similar account of what occurred. Deputies then located Dow at a different residence, Lindsey said, and after she was advised she was under arrest, she refused deputies’ commands and physically resisted.

Dow was restrained, taken into custody, and transported to jail. She is held in the Texas County Jail pending a $3,000 cash-only bond.
