    Sheriff’s Office warns of concealed carry permit scam

    (EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) said its office was notified of a scam that is going around in the community involving a text message about a concealed carry permit.

    Deputies said the scam involves a text message with the date and a call to action related to concealed carry permits. The text asks the recipient to click the link and download a file.

    EPSO said if you get this text message do not click on the link or reply to the message. EPSO will not text you about getting or renewing a concealed carry permit.
