Family members reported his disappearance to local authorities on May 28, 2024, expressing deep concern as Sanders has not been seen for several days. They have highlighted that Jamal is deaf and faces cognitive challenges, increasing concerns for his safety.

Jamal is frequently known to visit the Lake Eva basketball courts in Haines City, and his most recent activities suggest he might be in the Winter Haven and Bartow areas.
