Camila Cabello promises a double dose of Drake on new album

Turns out that Camila Cabello and Drake Turks & Caicos hang out sesh caught on camera was in fact strictly work related. Because as she recently shared with Billboard , the only coupling these two did, was create a couple of songs for Camila’s next album.

That’s right, Drake will be featured on not one, but two tracks on Cabello ’s fourth studio album C,XOXO , which is set to arrive June 28. And the good island times they seemed to be having, was in the midst of work, as the duo was finishing up one of the tracks.

“He’s the f***ing GOAT, so it felt like shooting for the stars,” she told Billboard , sharing how she first connected with the rapper by simply sliding into his DMs. “I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it.” Noting that the feature, “came out of a non-transactional place. He had this idea of a song called ‘Hot Uptown,’ and it just felt like I was in the city. I was in Miami.”

Drake is also featured on a two-minute-long interlude titled “Uuugly,” which was apparently all Drizzy’s idea, and immediately follows “Hot Uptown” on the C,XOXO tracklist. The snippet, finds him singing over a blend of synth beats and Cabello’s vocals.

“Why does he have his own song? Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album,” Cabello continued. “I love that for me — it’s like that rebellious mood. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his s***.”

Camila’s revelation arrives nearly five months after she initially stomped on those dating rumors during her chat with Alex Copper on Call Her Daddy . “I really felt like he would like my album,” she told Cooper at the time, “and so I DM’d him and I was like, ‘Hey, I’m just gonna put it out there.’”

“We hung out, I played him my album. He loved it,” she added, not yet revealing that Drake would be featured on the project.

And that’s not all you expect to hear on C, XOXO . In addition to Drake, and of course collabs with Playboi Carti and Lil Nax X on already released singles “I Luv It” and “He Knows,” thus far we know the LP will also feature City Girls , The-Dream and BLP Kosher .
