One positional battle that people are going to be keeping an eye on with the Green Bay Packers this offseason is along the offensive line. There are only two players, left guard Elgton Jenkins and Zach Tom, who have starting spots locked down. One of the players who will be competing for one of the other three spots is first-round pick Jordan Morgan.

Given the versatility of Tom, who has already logged snaps at every position along the offensive line in the NFL, head coach Matt LaFleur is going to be able to mix and match. Finding the perfect combination will take some time, but having guys who can play several spots is ideal.

Jordan Morgan fits that mold for the Packers. Some draft evaluators viewed him as a guard in the NFL, but he played left tackle at Arizona. Green Bay is looking to develop him long-term at left tackle, but he will have to earn his spot in 2024.

Rasheed Walker is the main competition to play on Jordan Love’s blindside. But, Jordan Morgan could also factor into the mix at right guard or even right tackle. That is what makes him such the Packers player to track in OTAs in the opinion of Kris Knox of Bleacher Report.

“While Morgan may indeed become the heir to longtime starting left tackle David Bakhtiari, the rookie will likely compete with Rasheed Walker, Zach Tom and Andre Dillard to fill out Green Bay’s starting tackle spots this offseason. He could also compete at guard, a position that lost Jon Runyan in free agency.

Protecting Love will be critical in 2024, so the competition along the line, and Morgan’s development, will be intriguing aspects of offseason workouts,” Knox wrote.

The Packers have some serious depth along the offensive line, as you can never have too many reinforcements in the trenches. It would be a slight upset should Jordan Morgan not lock down one of the starting spots this offseason.

As a first-round pick, it is assumed by analysts that he will be one of the five best offensive linemen the Packers have. If he cannot unseat Walker at left tackle, he should be part of the competition to replace Jon Runyan Jr.
