The North American ski season is winding down, much to the dismay of skiers in the U.S. and Canada. Luckily, there are three resorts remaining: Arizona Snowbowl, Arizona; Killington Resort, Vermont; and Timberline Lodge, Oregon.

Timberline may not come as a surprise, but Arizona having some of the latest skiing in the U.S. may be more of a shocker. Arizona Snowbowl posted a video detailing their closing day; see below.

Officials at AZ Snowbowl wrote that the closing day for Snowbowl's 23/24 winter season is this Saturday, June 1st.

"The month of May and the whole 23/24 season has been nothing short of amazing out on the mountain and we’re looking forward to celebrating our longest season ever with all of you, this Saturday!"

Officials detailed that the Arizona Gondola will be spinning from 10 AM - 4 PM, offering access to advanced terrain only. Also, the scenic gondola rides will be available to guests.

Arizona Snowbowl is offering $10 lift tickets to select occupations such as professors, teachers, active military members, veterans, first responders, and medical practitioners for the rest of the season.

Anyone in these professions can bring an employment ID, paystub, or military ID is to pick up tickets to the Hart Prairie Lodge.

Timberline Lodge being open June 1st likely came as a surprise to no one, as the mountain is open ten months out of the year. Their summer operations are just gearing up while their winter season winds down. Officials at Timberline posted a thank you to guests for their winter season; see above.

Even better, Timberline currently has a base depth of 113 inches, meaning there is quality skiing to be had for the foreseeable future.

The resort received one inch of fresh snow in the last hour.

Their lifts are scheduled to operate daily from 8am - 2pm, weather permitting. According to Timberline's conditions report , "the winter and spring season has concluded. Welcome to Summer 2024!"

Currently, for lifts, Magic Mile is open. For terrain parks, Mile Park is open. For parking lots, Salmon River Lot and Summit Pass Lot are open.

The East has one remaining resort to their name, allowing people to Ski The East in June. Killington has impressively remained open, and will have their closing day on June 1st.

Officials at "the Beast" wrote that "Superstar will be ready to go for turns under the June sun tomorrow! Even though some walking will be required, it'll be an experience you will never forget." See above.

With a 9 inch base depth, it is definitely stretching the limits of what skiing can be and how long a season can last.

The snow conditions report assured everyone not to "let the web cams fool you." Killington's grooming team has reportedly done some late season work and officials declare that there is enough snow remaining for more turns this season.

"The plan is to connect the Superstar trail below the headwall for nearly 1000’ of vertical. Some walking, including on and off the chairlift will be required. Skiers and riders can choose to down climb a short section of the headwall, or they can take Nivis Walk for a less steep walk down to the snow. While most of the length of the trail will be covered, areas of thin cover are to be expected. The terrain on Superstar is recommended for experts only."

The Superstar Express Quad is scheduled to spin from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturday June 1st, but hours may change based on conditions.

Tickets will be $25 (all ages), with proceeds benefitting Killington Mountain Bike Club .

The community will also be heading out to "beautify the Beast" as part of the Play Forever Mountain Clean up. Guests and volunteers can register online or onsite at the Roaring Brook Umbrella Bar from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
