Ryan Seacrest Will Reportedly Be Conducting 'Background Checks' On New Girlfriends Following Split From Aubrey Paige To 'Protect Himself'

Although we still don’t know the exact reasons for their split, Ryan Seacrest is determined to learn from his relationship with Aubrey Paige , who he dated for three years before they broke up.

According to reports, the 49-year-old American Idol host wants to conduct “background checks” on prospective girlfriends in order to “protect himself.” Does this suggest that his split from the 26-year-old model wasn’t as amicable as they initially made out? Is there something they’re not telling us? It’s sure looking that way!

What Is Ryan Seacrest Looking For In A Girlfriend?

Although the former Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host hasn't specifically described what he is looking for, or what is on his list of non-negotiables, insiders have a pretty good idea about the things his future girlfriends should and shouldn't be! And he reportedly wants to be sure that potential girlfriends check all the boxes!

"She must be young, pretty and ambitious to a point," an insider reportedly told Closer Weekly. "Ryan's insisting on background checks. He's not proud about it, but he feels they're necessary to protect himself," they added.

The insider went on to say: "Anything alarming in a person's past, like lying about a job or a criminal conviction or lawsuit, would definitely be a deal-breaker. Just because someone said they graduated from Harvard doesn't make it true. He wants it verified." Yikes! Did one of his previous girlfriends lie about their education or something to that effect?!

Ryan Seacrest And Aubrey Paige Broke Up In April

The former couple shocked fans with the news of their split back in April. "After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways," an insider told People, adding: " They plan to stay in each other's lives as good friends and support one another's endeavors."

Although they haven't confirmed the official reason for their split, the rumor mill has still continued to turn. According to Ok!, one source reportedly suggested that they went their separate ways because "she wants marriage and kids" and he doesn't. The source also thought their breakup had something to do with his extremely busy schedule, and said: "Ryan's so busy, and that didn't help. His schedule left little time for Aubrey as it was, so they decided it was best to call it quits."
