Joy of Life Season 2 (Episode 36) Ending Explained & Spoilers: How Does the Zhang Ruoyun & Li Qin Starrer End?

The popular Wuxia C-drama Joy of Life Season 2, starring Zhang Ruoyun and Li Qin, released its season finale on May 30, 2024. The episode focuses on Fan Xian’s (Zhang Ruoyun) encounter with the grandmaster. Fan Xian reveals his plan to sell the secrets of the three great workshops to generate revenue. He proposes to use the wealth to pay the Treasury’s debt. But Li Cheng Ping doesn’t agree with his plan. He doesn’t want the general public to know about the imperial treasury’s secrets.

He urges Fan Xian to seek permission before engaging in such an intrepid act. Meanwhile, Li Cheng Ping and Shi Chan Li decide to remain neutral. They decide neither to assist Fan Xian in his endeavor nor to report it to the authorities.

Meanwhile, Qi Nian brings Deng Zi Yue from the Overwatch Council to visit Fan Xian. Zi Yue reveals what he has found out during his stay with the Ming family. He reveals that the three great workshops are still very much active. But the Ming family has moved it somewhere outside the city. Furthermore, he has discovered the current address of the workshops. He urges Fan Xian to punish the Ming family for incinerating and destroying so many lives.

Then, in the episode, Fan Xian finds out that Shadow has been nowhere to be found since his fight with Yun Zhi Lan. He decides to take Qi Nian and head to the workshops. Although Qi Nian is not confident about the risky plan as Fan Xian’s internal energy is yet to be recovered, he decides to trust him.

Meanwhile, Ming Qing Da receives a report that Fan Xian has headed towards the workshops’ location. He immediately reports this to his mother. The black cavalry of the Overwatch Council has also joined hands with Fan Xian. Madam Ming appears nonchalant, as she believes that the grandmaster will take action against Fan Xian.

Fan Xian’s troops are stopped by Shadow, who urges them to return to the city. He warns them about the return of Grandmaster Ye Lin Yui. Shadow reveals that the grandmaster is there to take revenge against the emperor for driving his family out of the city. But Fan Xian decides to ignore Shadow’s warning as he is determined to take back his mother’s assets.

After reaching the location, Fan Xian’s army faces resistance from the workers and the supervisors. Fan Xian handles the situation by putting the supervisors on trial and executing them for their past crimes. He announces that he will be taking over the three great workshops as per the emperor’s edict.

Meanwhile, the Ming family members conspire against each other to take control of the family and escape punishment. They fear that if Fan Xian does not die, the entire family will face dire consequences for committing treason and countless other crimes.

After succeeding in his mission, Fan Xian rushes back to the city. Grandmaster Ye Lin Yui arrives there on a boat. Although frightened on the inside, Fan Xian faces him alone. He recalls Wu Zhu’s warning about the Grandmaster being extremely powerful. Even Fan Xian’s weapon, which is not from that era, is not enough to face him.

The Grandmaster possesses otherworldly powers. Not only can he control objects from afar, but he can also cut down an entire building with a single blow. He is ready to let Fan Xian go if he immediately leaves Jiangnan, but Fan Xian refuses. He reveals that the Ye family is still hiding, and the Grandmaster won’t ever get a hold of them if Fan Xian dies.

Liu Yun softens as he finds out about Fan Xian’s mother. His bravery and kindness win Liu Yun’s heart, and he decides to let him go. Meanwhile, Fan Xian’s internal energy starts to rebloom.
