Five things to know when headed to the pool in Shelby

Like many pools in the region, Shelby Aquatics Center opened on Memorial Day weekend.

Here are five things to know about the facility:

Location

Shelby City Park, 850 W. Sumter St., Shelby

Schedule:

1-6 p.m. Monday-Thursdays

Noon to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays

2-6 p.m. Sundays

The last Friday is Aug. 9 then open weekends only until Sept. 2

Family Swim is from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 4 through Aug. 8

Cost

$2 for 12 years and under

$3 for 13 years and over

$2 for 55 years and older

Admission fees are cash only.

Special events

The pool will be closed closed for weekend swim meets on June 8 (all day) and June 9 (morning only) and July 5-7 (all day).
