President of the Raleigh County Commission Dave Tolliver passes away

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Dave Tolliver, President of the Raleigh County Commission, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024.

He was 76.

Tolliver’s death was confirmed via Jay Quesenberry and Doug Epling, one of Tolliver’s friends and husband of commissioner Linda Epling. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed but was stated to be a “health emergency.”

Tolliver’s family provided the following statement to 59News:

The family of Dave Tolliver would like to express our sincere gratitude for all of the love and support that we have been shown from the community. Dave truly loved serving the people of Raleigh County. He will be sorely missed by friends and family.

Those in the area can attest that one of Tolliver’s passions was bringing water to those in Raleigh County as he served on the commission for six years. He was also a retired Beckley firefighter and a proud U.S. Army veteran.
