Service Electric to offer ‘all in one device’ television streaming

Service Electric Cable TV & Communication is launching a new product and app for its customers in the Lehigh Valley.

The company will begin replacing the conventional set top cable boxes that it's been using with the TiVo Evolution box with the SE Stream app.

SECTV Marketing Manager Jim Macdonald called it a “groundbreaking new service that is set to change the way we watch TV forever.”

With the new ap and cable box, customers will no longer need a coaxial cable to access their live cable television program.

Instead, SECTV cable packages will come through a streaming app that is preloaded on the TiVo box, set to their subscription service.

With that innovation, customers will be able to watch live television from anywhere, either by something like moving their television to the back porch to watch a game on a warm summer night, or by accessing the SECTV app on a mobile device.

With the new TiVo Evolution box, streaming and cable will be combined as one, so customers no longer need to use devices like an Amazon Fire Stick, or upgrade to a smart TV.

All of the streaming channels will be available on the device along with the live cable app option.

Everything will run through the home’s WiFi.

Macdonald noted that with SE Stream, users can access a vast library of on-demand content, including movies, TV shows, and original programming, as well as live TV and sports.

“Everything you do on your television will be on one physical device,” Macdonald said.

John Walson, CEO of SECTV commented on the new options.

"We believe that TV should be more than just a passive experience. With TiVo Evolution, we're giving users the power to take control of their viewing experience and discover new content that they'll love,” he said.

The box and app are launching in the Lehigh Valley now and will be available in other SECTV markets in the near future.
