On Thursday, May 27, former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 felony courts in a New York criminal trial.

Trump later was quoted as saying the “real verdict is going to be on November 5, by the people.”

Kent County News went out to talk to the people about that in our debut column of “Kent’s Views”. Each month we will tackle topics that you’re talking about in our community.

We asked was it a fair trial? If so, in what ways? And if not, in what ways?

When surveying about twenty people, (some not wanting to go on record) those against Trump were glad to see justice was done, but a majority of them expressed puzzlement at why, in light of all the evidence, does he continue to gain support.

Those who supported Trump said they are continuing to support him, no matter what, and feel like it was a show trial or a distraction.
